Did you know that before World War I all soaps were made with fats and oils? Due to the shortages during wartime, commercial soap makers were forced to look for alternative ingredients. Synthetic detergent soaps became the norm and have remained ever since.

Please take a moment to read the ingredients in my soap. I'm sure most of them are very familiar to you, unlike the soaps you may currently be purchasing.

"Necessity is the Mother of Invention" and this is what has guided me to create homemade soap.
The Wisconsin winters can be harsh and drying to the skin. I knew there had to be something better for my hands than what was available in stores.

There are no animal fats in my soap, only high quality vegetable oils.

To make the liquid soaps I heat the oils and then add potassium hydroxide to turn the oils into soap. It takes a minimum of 3 hours to create a thick paste. I add the paste to boiling demineralized water and then the fun begins! I add glycerin to moisturize and lots of fragrance oils to keep your hands smelling sweet.

After working with the carrier oils, essential oils and fragrance oils for over a year, I wanted to expand the line and create additional products that were "skin friendly".

This led to the creation of my hand & body cream, facial cleanser and face cream.

After making my products for friends, they liked them so much, they convinced me to make them for you too!
